About This Ring
It's been a long time since I originally decided that I wanted a heavier-duty version of ROBOT. Since I was going to have to completely re-do the masters anyway, I decided to also give the ring straight edges, so that it would be more-or-less the same width everywhere.

So I set to work, and eventually had my new masters, plus their set of moulds.

But all too soon I would recognise something that needed improvement, and feel the need to modify them.

Again and again.

I would probably still be at it now, but for the entry of Oskar van Deventer onto the scene.

We initially came to know each other because of our collaboration to produce SIXTH SENSE, and luckily for me he has been willing to extend that collaboration to other rings as well.

Including this one.

Oskar did the 3D modeling for SOLID according to my instructions, and I got my masters through the mail, after they had been 3D-printed by Shapeways, a large American company.

Because he did such a good job of the modeling, very little work remained for me to do, and I had a new set of moulds within a couple of days.

Now, there is no need for further improvement, and I can safely say that I will not be adding to my collection of outdated SOLID moulds, which stands at 6.
